Hypercar McLaren Speedtail: specs, price, horsepower, top speed and acceleration 0 – 100

Hypercar McLaren Speedtail : spécifications, prix, puissance, vitesse de pointe et accélération 0 - 100

McLaren has revealed the first pictures and details of its new Speedtail supercar. The model is set to be the spiritual successor to the iconic F1 of 90.

Both cars have the same 2 + 1 seating arrangement (driver sits in the middle). The driver sits in the middle with two recessed passenger seats behind. The McLaren Speedtail features an extremely aerodynamic drop-shaped body with an extended rear end (5.14 m long). To reduce air resistance, the car is fitted with retractable cameras instead of side mirrors. A real wow factor is the active aerodynamic elements in the form of flexible carbon-fibre ailerons. Their use eliminates additional gaps that disturb the harmony. They form a unit with the body and the rear section simply curves upwards when driving.

McLaren Speedtail 0 – 100:

Accelerates from 0 to 300 km/h in 12.8 seconds (yes – the manufacturer has decided that zero to 100 acceleration is no longer impressive)

McLaren Speedtail interior:

The layout of the buttons is also unusual. Those used to start the engine, select drive mode or control the radio are located in the same way as on an aeroplane – in the headliner.

McLaren Speedtail price (Buy McLaren Speedtail):

A total of 106 units will be built, with prices starting at €2,000,000.

McLaren Speedtail Albert:

The McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division has recently been keen to repaint models such as the 765LT and 600LT Spider. So when a customer of McLaren Beverly Hills in the USA needed a special Speedtail hypercar, the MSO staff immediately thought of an unusual paint finish.

As a result, one of the last copies of the Speedtail (there will be 106 in all) got striped livery, reminiscent of the prototype MVY0-BP23 (2018). The version also inherited the nickname Albert, traditionally given to ‘mules’ after Elbert Drive in Woking, UK, where both the Speedtail and McLaren F1 (1992-1998) were developed.

Richard Mille McLaren Speedtail:

The Richard Mille RM 40-01 Automatic Winding Tourbillon McLaren Speedtail was developed to celebrate this extraordinary car and reflects the Speedtail’s bold characteristics and the philosophy behind it. The first thing that catches the eye is the anatomy of the case, also based on the drop shape. Despite its seemingly large dimensions, the 48.25 mm x 41.80 mm case is surprisingly ergonomic on the wrist thanks to its curved profile and streamlined style. The bezel and caseback are made of grade 5 titanium and the strap is made of Carbon TPT, so the watch is lightweight and very pleasant to the touch. The intricate shape of the sapphire crystal is eye-catching and creates beautiful light effects. The integration of the rubber strap (with the iconic McLaren orange band) is perfect, despite its complex asymmetric shape.
