Rivian R1T is the first vehicle from American electric vehicle developer Rivian. The pick-up is similar in dimensions to the Ford Ranger or Chevrolet Colorado.
The pick-up is based on the signature skateboard platform, which has a flat construction. “The ‘bogie’ includes electric motors, batteries, controllers, and suspensions. The R1T has a two-row, four-door, five-seat cab.
Having an electric motor on each wheel provides excellent manoeuvrability both on and off-road. As each wheel can turn independently of the others, the R1T features real-time torque vectoring, which enables power to be transferred to the correct wheels for improved manoeuvrability, traction and off-road capability, all instantaneously, as there are no clutches in the system. And to give the driver the full benefit of the system, the electric pick-up offers a number of different driving modes.
The vehicle is able to negotiate fords of up to 91 cm in depth and pull a trailer weighing up to 5 tonnes.

The $75,000 Adventure package includes enhanced underbody protection, front bumper with towing hooks and air compressor, electric cargo compartment shutters, interior with ash wood inserts and yellow accents, perforated eco leather steering wheel, seat ventilation, more expensive audio system and front passenger seat with lumbar adjustment.
