The Alpine A310 was developed in Dieppe as a replacement for the successful A110 before the takeover by Renault in 1974.

 

Vehicle construction: lightweight fibreglass body and tubular steel chassis with central tunnel.

The A310 was restyled in 1976. The single glazed block of six rectangular headlamps was split into two separate parts with twin headlamps, and the Renault logo appeared between them.

The Group 4 racing modification included widened wheel arches, front and rear spoiler and a power boost to 193 bhp.

Alpine A310 engine:

A rear-mounted Renault R17 four-cylinder 1606cc engine with twin Weber carburettors or Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection produced 125 bhp.

After the restyling, the car was fitted with a 2.7 litre V6 PRV engine producing 150 bhp and a 5-speed gearbox.
