Bizzarrini P538: specs, price, horsepower, top speed and acceleration 0 – 100

Originally the Iso Grifo A3/C, later renamed the Bizzarrini 5300 GT, it was built for racing purposes only, with no intention of going into production.

The first Bizzarrini P538 turned over during testing at the factory track in 1966. The second car was sold to American Mike Gammino, who ordered a Lamborghini 4-litre V12 engine rated at 430bhp. A third example with a V8 engine took part in the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours, where it was driven off the track after three hours due to cooling problems.

In 1968 one of the Bizzarrini P538 8-cylinder roadsters was converted into a unique coupe and sold to the Duke of Aosta. Another car was sent to ItalDesign in 1968 and Giorgetto Giugiaro built the Bizzarrini Manta concept car on its chassis.
