The company’s first model from the United Arab Emirates, designed by car designer Anthony Giannarelli in collaboration with the Frenchman Frédéric Juillot.
The two-seater is built on a space frame made of steel and aluminium. The open-body ‘speedster’ (roadster with or without a truncated windscreen) is in GRP or CFRP. Overall length is 3,860 mm, width is 1,840 mm and height is only 1,080 mm. That is, the Jannarelly Design-1 is slightly shorter and lower, but wider than the production Mazda MX-5 roadster.
The Design-1 has a simple steel frame chassis, a supercharged engine behind the driver, driving the rear wheels via an optional limited slip differential and a manual gearbox with six speeds. Suspension is double wishbones of unequal length at each corner, braking is by large iron discs. There are no anti-lock brakes or airbags, although traction control is an optional extra.
