As part of the BMW M Division’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the German manufacturer has unveiled the first charged BMW hybrid with an M prefix.
The BMW XM is a full-size luxury crossover with a length of 5.1 metres and a wheelbase like the BMW X7 (3.1 mm). The exterior of the new model emphasizes gold details: wheel rims, glass edges, radiator grille surrounds and other body elements.
There are two emblems (albeit painted) at once on the rear, located at the top of the rear window – a direct reference to that very same BMW M1 supercar. The basic wheels are 21 inches in diameter, but you can order 22- or 23-inch shoes.
The crossover has adaptive spring suspension, plus it’s the first M-car with active anti-roll bars (the actuators are powered by a 48-volt electrical system) and a fully steerable chassis. Although, the rear wheels turn at a modest angle of up to 2.5 degrees. Six-piston brakes are fitted at the front and simple single-piston brakes at the rear.

The XM has two engines: a 4.4 litre V8 with 489 horsepower and an electric engine that produces 196 bhp. The peak output is 652 bhp. The car is fitted with the M Steptronic eight-speed automatic transmission.
BMW XM battery and range:
A 25.7 kWh battery allows the crossover to travel up to 88 km on pure electricity. The battery can be recharged from an electrical socket: the on-board charger has a capacity of 7.4 kW.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds.
BMW XM top speed:
The top speed reaches 270 kilometres per hour.
BMW XM interior:
The interior is configured for five people (2 + 3). The multifunctional seats in the BMW M are upholstered in genuine leather, with contour lighting inside. There are a total of four interior trim options to choose from.
The front fascia features a 12.3-inch dashboard and a 14.9-inch media system with a 14.9-inch display. There are multicontour front seats, a projection screen and four-zone climate control already in the base. And the developers call the second row M Lounge: there are plenty of legrooms, heated seats (including headrests) and advanced lighting (100 LEDs).
