Alfa Romeo Scighera: specs, price, horsepower, top speed and acceleration 0 – 100

The Alfa Romeo Scighera concept car was designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro of ItalDesign and revealed at the 1997 Geneva Motor Show.

The low and wide aluminium body features a large glazing area and the side windows open upwards independently of the doors. The nose fairing is based on Formula 1 technology, while the rear spoiler, in addition to its aerodynamic function, also serves as an engine access handle. The front headlights are Hella discharge lamps located in the centre of the vertical slots on the front wings. Air intakes in front of the rear wheels are designed to cool the brakes.

The concept car is based on the Alfa Romeo 164 sedan. Scighera is Italian for ‘dense fog that suddenly appears from the lowlands’.
