Lucid has announced Sapphire, the brand under which Lucid’s most ‘charged’ cars will be launched.
But so far there’s only the Air, so there’s only the Air Sapphire within the brand for the time being. This version will be issued in a limited edition.
The company has done a great job on aerodynamics, with a Cd ratio of just 0.21. The roof is almost entirely transparent: the windscreen extends all the way to the centre pillars, and there is a separate glass section above the rear passengers. The Air has two luggage compartments: 456 litres in the rear and 202 litres in the front.

Lucid Air Sapphire engine:
Lucid Air Sapphire has one electric motor on the front axle and two on the rear (the less powerful Air versions have two motors). The rear electric motors operate independently of each other: for example, power can be supplied to one wheel and regenerative braking can be applied to the other, thereby controlling the traction vector.
Lucid Air Sapphire battery and range:
The electric car is powered by a 118 kWh battery and can travel up to 520 miles (ca. 837 km) on a single charge. The sedan supports charging with 350 kilowatts of power, and 21 minutes of plugging in will give 483 kilometres of extra mileage.

The Lucid Air Sapphire has a top speed of 270 km/h.
Lucid Air Sapphire interior:
In front of the driver is a wide 34-inch display divided into three themed sections. The centre console is also fully touch-screen, while the physical buttons in this cabin can be counted on the fingers. There are eight airbags in the cabin, including knee airbags for the front occupants.
Also announced are new multicontour sports seats with a host of adjustments, heating, ventilation and massagers.
