Ultima has revealed the successor to the GTR model. It’s the Evolution coupe. The company has also unveiled an open-top version.
This machine shares a philosophy: simple and lightweight construction, an easily accessible engine, high power output and stunning performance. The latest Ultima RS is the smartest and fastest model in the British company’s nearly 35-year history and will remain a timeless classic for decades to come. At the heart of the car is a tubular space frame with an integrated safety cage. The body, inspired by the Group C racing prototypes and refined in the MIRA wind tunnel, is made from composite materials and carbon fibres, especially the elements responsible for air direction and engine cooling.
The RS is equipped with an adjustable rear wing, LED lighting, AP brakes (the base version has 322 mm brakes, but a larger, 362 mm disc can be fitted as an option), a six-speed Porsche manual gearbox, 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, air conditioning and the Apline multimedia system. Optionally, you can add more carbon fibre elements, install hydraulics to temporarily increase ground clearance on the front axle and purchase… individual luggage set.
The Ultima RS is ready to use the LS3, LS7, LSA, LT1, LT4 and LT5 type supercharged or uncharged units, which develop from around 430 to – in the case of the upgraded LT – over 1200 horsepower! And that’s all with a manual gearbox! Such power in a vehicle weighing less than 1,000 kilograms (minimum 930kg, depending on the version) results in staggering performance: 2.3 seconds to 100 km/h, 4.8 seconds to 161 km/h, 8.9 seconds to 240 km/h and a top speed of over 402 km/h! The car can already be ordered: left-hand or right-hand drive, as a kit for self-assembly or as a fully completed car (due to the huge interest in the car, you will have to wait more than two years).
