Voyah Free is an electric crossover from the premium Dongfeng sub-brand. The car went on sale in China in June 2021.

A separate modular ESSA (Electric Smart Secure Architecture) platform has been developed especially for the Voyah models: double wishbone suspension at the front, multi-lever at the rear, aluminium sub-frames, traction battery under the floor. And the Free model also has airbags ‘all-round’.

The basic version of Voyah Free is an electric car. And the second version is a rechargeable sequential hybrid.

Voyah Free specs:

  • top speed – 200 km/h
  • acceleration to 100 km/h – 4,5 s
  • horsepower – 694 hp
  • power density – 303 hp/t
  • engine volume – 1476 cm³
  • vehicle weight – 2290 kg

In China, a hybrid version is available – with a 1.5-litre petrol unit producing 109 bhp, which acts as a ‘range extender’.

Voyah Free interior:

Its main ‘gimmick’ is the front panel that lifts and lowers. There are three displays on the front fascia, a projection screen and an over-the-air media update function. The four-zone climate control is voice-activated (the electronics recognize which ‘zone’ the command comes from), the front seats are ventilated and have a massager. There is adaptive cruise control, with third-level autopilot in the future.

Voyah Free price (Voyah Free for sale):

The car is available from €53000.
